teen angst?.... nahhh

     The book "Teen Angst?....Na" is a bout how this young boy named Ned Vizzini grows up to become a man. The book "Teen Angst?....Na" is a book that people can relate to because he has a a bit of trouble finding himself and I know that for a lot of teens and adults thats hard. 

     In the book Ned the main character changed from the beginning of the book to the end but one of  the part through the changed that caught my attention was when he stop studying to start hanging out with a new group of friends. This new group of friends he starts to hang out with is not a good group of friends. This changed caught my attention because there was a time when i was hanging out with the wrong crowed and instead of helping me with my anger problems the encouraged it. 

      Another part that caught my attention is at the end of the book when he realizes that family was more important then his friend. An i felt that that was important because some people haven't realized yet that family is important. They haven't realized that almost all of the time family will always have your back and be the people you can lean on

I read the poem "What i see daydreaming" by Sarah Villeda-Holmes and the theme in this poem is that you never know for sure what you see. In the poem Sarah is looking into a chalkboard and she see's different things when looking into the chalkboard.

    The theme is that you never know what you see because in the poem Sarah say's "to me it looks like a dragon with spikes pushing their way out of the dragons body." That's what she see's at first but then she also said in the poem "if you move your head it looks like fishponds" but now that she is looking more into the chalkboard she notice's more things

    The poem  makes me think about when you see someone for the first time and you can imagine how the person acts, but then you meet that person and you what you imagine about that person changes. And the more you get to know someone the more you learn about them.Now what you imagine about a person is way different in the beginning then  when you first seen them. Similar in the poem she first saw a dragon but she looked deeper into the chalkboard an saw something else that was way different from first time.

    I picked this poem because I like the fact that she has an active imagination. That makes her creative and that makes the poem creative. I also like this poem because it reminds me of myself when i daydream and when I imagine things.

                                                                                                                                                                    I read this article called "Teen studies her own cancer" by Lauran Neergaard. This 18 year old teen is named Elana Simon and  survived a extremely rare liver cancer and after she decided that she wanted to study it. She found a new study that  "helped scientists find a weird gene flaw that might play a role in how the tumor strikes." Elana's father was in charged of the study that she was working on, they only tested on 15 tumors because the cancer is rare. Elana got an internship to study the cancer she survived.  Elana had a problem with the internship, their wasn't enough tumors to test.  They spread  the word and eventually got more tumors to test. "  Sanford Simon said other researchers then conducted laboratory experiments to show the abnormal protein really is active inside tumor cells." Elana is going to Harvard and is going to continue her study. This article is a really inspiring article and i really like it and enjoyed reading it.

Reindeer's!!! Yes that is what I said reindeer's, i was reading an article on reindeer's but not just any lame articles on reindeer's. This article was out reindeer's getting fluorescent antlers. The country of Finland  is trying to cut down the number of car accidents in the night so they deiced to give deer's bright antlers because the deer's are the reason why the car accidents are happening. So far only 20 reindeer's antlers has been painted with  various fluorescent dyes. They are trying to   find out whether the paints are resistant to the harsh Arctic climate, if they can they said that the deer's  will be able to Rome around freely.

Reading Response For The Book "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll (part 1)

In the book "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll this girl named Alice see's a white rabbit one summer day the rabbit had a vest on and pulled out a pocket watch,  as he looked at it he said he was late then hop into a hole. Alice follows the white rabbit down the how but this was no ordinary hole this, when Alice was in the hole she ended up in an hallway with doors. Alice finds a key on the table that she then uses to open up on of the doors, In that door she see's an beautiful garden, Alice then gets upset because she can not fit through the door. Alice then finds a bottle of liquid that say "eat me" and she also finds a cake that says "eat me". Alice drinks the liquid and she finds out it makes her smaller and she can fit through the door but she left the key on the table. So then she eats the cake but know she is too big ans she till cant fit through the door, Alice begins to cry as giant tears falls from her eyes. The tears begins to form a big puddle somewhat like a pool.The pool of tear becomes an ocean an Alice shrinks into it, she meets an mouse in the sea. As Alice gets to shore with the mouse she meets other Animals. Alice's scares them away with some stories, she then finds the whit rabbit again but he thinks that she is a servant and send her to go get his stuff. While Alice was in the white rabbits house she drinks an liquid that makes her so big that she is now the size of the room. When the white rabbit comes back with the other animals they saw her and  through little cakes at her and she ate one an she became smaller. Alice wondered into the forest and she meet an caterpillar, the caterpillar was smoking hookah.

favorite kid book

My favorite kid book is "May I Please have a cookie" by Jennifer Morris, this is my favorite kid book because it has to do with cookies and when I was younger I loved cookies. In the book Alfie the little alligator wanted one of his mothers baked cookies, Alfie loves cookies he loved the smell of cookies he loved the way they looked most of all he loved the way they taste. The plate of cookies was on the table and he went to grab a cookie and his mother told him to find a better way to get the cookie. so throughout the book Alfie tries all these different ways to try and get the cookie he dresses up as someone else he tried to fish it out the window and then finally he ask his mother for the cookie and his mom gave him the cookie.

2nd RR (Are you there god? Its me Margaret)

           I read the book "Are you there god? Its me Margaret" this book is about a girl who is in the sixth grader. She goes through all of this changes with her body and she want to be like other girls.she is trying to decided what religion she should be.Margaret talks to god she opens up to god on a personal level but then she got so mad at him that she refuses to talk to him.
   This girl Margaret Simon moved to New Jersey suburbs she finds a group of friends. They talk about the regular stuff tweens  talk about like boy,bodies,friendship ect. Margaret tries to find out what religion she should be, because her mom is Christian and her dad is Jewish. Margaret worries about fitting in and being normal she wants to grow up and be older. But she is still embarrassed of a lot of things like shopping for certain things. one of  Margarets friend Nancy spreads gossip about Laura.
